The following ‘Speciality’ courses are available through IDTA,
Gas Blending Technician Level 1
AIM
This course provides the training required allowing candidates to competently and safely blend Nitrox gas.
The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper techniques, equipment requirements and hazards involved in blending Nitrox gases for scuba diving purposes.
PREREQUISITES
- Minimum age 18.
- Be sponsored or employed by a recognised diving business
REQUIRED COURSE MINIMUMS AND LIMITATIONS
- Classroom hours – minimum 8 hours
- Candidates must successfully blend and analyse 5 cylinders of Nitrox gas
Gas Blending Technician Level 2
AIM
This course enables the successful candidate to engage in the preparation of all gases for advanced scuba diving operations.
The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper procedures needed for the preparation and blending of nitrox, trimix heliair and heli-ox gas mixtures.
PREREQUISITES
- Minimum age 18.
- Be sponsored or employed by a recognised diving business
- Certification of ITDA Gas Blending Technician level 1
REQUIRED COURSE MINIMUMS AND LIMITATIONS
- Classroom hours – 8
- Candidates must successfully blend and analyse a minimum of 5 cylinders of Nitrox and 3 cylinders of trimix, heliair or heli-ox
