The following ‘rebreather’ courses are available through IDTA,
Nitrox SCCR ( Semi Closed Circuit Rebreather) Diver
AIM
This is the entry-level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilise a Nitrox Semi-Closed Circuit Rebreather(SCCR). The objective of this course is to train recreational divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for using a Nitrox SCCR to a maximum depth of 40 msw.
PREREQUISITES
- Minimum age 15
- Minimum certification level of ITDA Nitrox diver or equivalent from a recognized training agency
- Be physically and mentally fit
- Have DAN insurance (or equivalent)
REQUIRED COURSE MINIMUMS AND LIMITATIONS
- Minimum 3 days with at least 12 hours classroom / briefing
- Confined-water dives-1 with minimum of 45 minutes for skill development
- Open water dives -4 with a minimum accumulated bottom time of 240 minutes
- Maximum depth 40 msw
CCR (Closed Circuit Rebreather) Nitrox Diver
AIM
The CCR NITROX DIVER course is designed for those divers who wish to use a CCR with an air diluent for their diving activities, to a maximum depth of 40 msw.
The course is generic and designed to be used for both Electronic and Manual CCR’s but can only be taught by an instructor recognized by the relevant manufacturer.
PREREQUISITES
- Minimum age 18
- Minimum certification level of ITDA Decompression Nitrox diver or equivalent from a recognised training agency. The Decompression Nitrox course can be combined with the CCR level 1 course at the instructors discretion
- Minimum of 50 logged dives
- Be physically and mentally fit.
- Have DAN insurance (or equivalent)
REQUIRED COURSE MINIMUMS AND LIMITATIONS
- Minimum 5 days with at least 20 hours classroom / briefing and practical demonstrations
- Confined-water dives-1 with minimum of 120 minutes for skill development
- Open water dives -6 with a minimum accumulated bottom time of 360 minutes. Where there is a manufacturers requirement to increase the number of dives/dive time this will take precedence
- Maximum depth 40 msw
CCR (Closed Circuit Rebreather) Mixed Gas Diver Level 1
AIM
The CCR MIXED GAS DIVER LEVEL 1 course is designed for those divers who wish to use a CCR with a normoxic trimix diluent for their diving activities, to a maximum depth of 60 msw.
PREREQUISITES
- Minimum age 18
- Minimum certification level of ITDA CCR Nitrox diver or equivalent from a recognized training agency
- Minimum of 50 logged CCR dives and 50 hours in water time from qualification as CCR Nitrox diver, at the instructor discretion
- Minimum of 30 dives must be deeper than 30 msw on same rebreather as CCR Nitrox diver certification was earned
- Be physically and mentally fit
- Have DAN insurance (or equivalent)
REQUIRED COURSE MINIMUMS AND LIMITATIONS
- Minimum of 30 dives must be deeper than 30 msw on same rebreather as CCR Nitrox diver certification was earned
- Confined-water dives-1 recommended for familiarization of multiple stage cylinders
- Open water dives -6 with a minimum accumulated time of 480 minutes
- Maximum depth 60 msw
CCR (Closed Circuit Rebreather) Mixed Gas Diver Level 2
AIM
The CCR MIXED GAS DIVER LEVEL 2 course is designed for those divers who wish to use a CCR with a normoxic trimix diluent for their diving activities, to a maximum depth of 100 msw.
PREREQUISITES
- Minimum age 18
- Minimum certification level of ITDA CCR Mixed Gas diver Level 1 diver or equivalent from a recognized training agency
- Minimum of 50 logged CCR dives and 50 hours in water time from qualification as CCR Mixed Gas diver Level 1, at the instructor discretion
- Minimum of 30 dives must be deeper than 50 msw and at least 10 to 60 msw on same rebreather as CCR Mixed Gas diver Level 1 certification was earned
- Be physically and mentally fit.
